My method

The best style is your own style

Searching for and creating an own style, and inspiring the sense of originality among my students, is the main purpose of what I do - and what I want to do - as an instructor.

When shaping individual styles, I make use of techniques based on instincts and intuition.

I believe that the body knows all the answers. It’s enough to trust it, learn how to listen to it, and follow its voice. I believe that the understanding of dancing is based on logical knowledge, but that it also involves knowing through experiencing.

The techniques I make use of include improvisation, visualisation, conscious breathing, voice modulation, creating collages, writing, and drawing.
I incorporate fun into education - at every stage. Fun stimulates and develops imagination, which can take the dancer virtually anywhere. And this is how a dancer creates their own style. Working out an own style takes also hundreds of hours of training with the active engagement of creativity.
Imagination, creation

Creativity

Creativity get triggered spontaneously when I don’t give you exact steps to follow. The dancer turns then instinctively to their imagination and their inner world, puts more effort and commitment to the entire process of creation.

A journey within doesn’t take place at the intellectual level only - it requires a complete sensory experience. I place the biggest emphasis on conscious experiencing through the body.

Partner dancing is about being ready to work together, about being here and now, about commitment, trust, and support.
Dancing is not only about perfect, repeatable, framework-bound movement. It’s mostly about movement that flows from within the dancer.
